MOORESVILLE, N.C. (OCTOBER 9, 2017) - Larson Marks Racing wrapped up a rare one-race weekend with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series on Saturday and left Fulton (N.Y.) Speedway with an 11th-place finish in the end.
Shane Stewart started off the night with a strong qualifying effort by earning the second-quickest lap time. He started on the pole of heat two and finished second to transfer into the Craftsman Club Dash. The four pill was then drawn for the dash inversion, where the Bixby, Okla., native started and finished fifth.
Early in the 25-lap main event, Stewart battled for a position in the top five. Stewart slipped back on a couple of restarts around the midway point of the event however. After a caution on lap 21, Stewart restarted 15th, but the caution was again displayed on the last lap. The pilot of the No. 2 lined up just outside of the top-10 for the green-white-checkered restart and held on to finish 11th.
"We've been so fast lately, we just need some luck," said Stewart. "The boys put together a new car this week and we were fast right out of the trailer, but we need to make some tweaks for race conditions. My guys work so hard, so I know we'll come back stronger next weekend."
The Larson Marks Racing team will be back in action Saturday, October 14 at Port Royal (Penn.) Speedway for the Nittany Showdown.
